CRUSH

 The project brief for this little book was to explore one of the seven deadly sins through the lens of a piece of literary work. I chose to explores crushes and their association to the deadly sin of lust through the song lyrics of Crush by Tessa Violet.

The introduction of the book reads: Lust is usually associated with sexually charged situations, but it can also be applied to the more innocent phenomenon of crushes. Tessa Violet’s song ‘crush’ perfectly exemplifies that fact. throughout this book, lines of the song are emphasized to draw attention to some of the subtle - and not so subtle - examples of lust behind a simple, innocent crush and what it makes the person with it think and do.

The design uses bright pinks and oranges, happy colors associated with young love. The song lyrics are set in a dainty script font to represent what someone with a crush puts out into the world, while the large bolded font in the background and the highlighted selections pull out the more lustful notions within the lyrics
